Eat for a Cause - Supporting US Vets

Local non-profit Eat for a Cause is bringing celebrity cook John Mueller to Houston to sell his world-famous BBQ for a fourth time. This charity fundraiser benefits Houston’s homeless veterans through our event partner, U.S. Vets. This year’s special guests are local favorites Wes Jurena of Pappa Charlie’s Barbeque and Patrick Feges of Feges BBQ.

On Saturday October 3rd we are taking over Lucky’s Pub Downtown (801 St. Emanuel, Houston, TX 77003) where John Mueller will smoke over 1,500 pounds of brisket, beef ribs, sausage, and turkey which will be for sale by the pound beginning at noon. This kid-friendly event features live music, a silent auction, and t-shirts and koozies for sale with proceeds going to help local homeless vets. You can wet your whistle at Lucky’s full service bar, dine al fresco on their 5,000 square foot patio, or watch your favorite team inside Houston’s best sports bar featuring Houston’s only 21 foot Hi-Definition MEGA screen.

John Mueller is a 3rd generation pit-master whose food has been featured in Texas Monthly and the New York Times. In years past we’ve sold out of meat in just a few hours, so get in line early. BBQ and silent auction sales from Q for a Cause IV benefit US Vets-Houston which serves 323 veterans in the Houston area daily. Funds are earmarked to help local homeless veterans with both permanent and transitional housing, as well as supporting US Vets downtown food kitchen. Please come out on Saturday to support our local heroes!
