Captain William W. Elliot IV



Winston, a native Houstonian, is dedicated to making Houston and Texas the best place for post 9/11 Veterans to live and thrive. As an active duty Army Officer and Afghanistan war veteran, Winston has been privileged to serve with some of the finest men and women this country has to offer. As many service members transition from the military, Winston hopes to continue to serve them by creating the opportunities and providing the support to successfully accomplish both their personal and professional goals. He believes LSVA is an amazing resource and forum to help not only our outstanding young veterans, but also the families and communities that surround them.


Military Background

Winston received a 4-year Army scholarship to the University of Georgia where he received a degree in Political Science. Upon graduation in 2009, Winston commissioned as an Artillery Officer into the United States Army. Following basic officer training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Winston was assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In 2012, he deployed as a Platoon Leader to Ghazni Province, RC East, Afghanistan where his platoon provided fire support for over three hundred combat patrols. Following his deployment Winston was privileged to work in various exercises with airborne forces from Poland, India, and Indonesia. After completing the Captain’s course, Winston served briefly with the 173rd Airborne in Vicenza, Italy and is currently assigned as the Operations Officer at the Houston Military Entrance Processing Station.


Personal Background

Winston grew up in Houston and then attended high school at the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, TX.  He currently resides in Houston with his wife Marti and their daughter Addison.
