     We greatly appreciate all the support we receive from our members and the community at large. Thanks to you we are building the largest community of veterans in Texas. Providing a safe and welcoming place for our veterans to come together, share stories, and help improve one another. We are a community of veterans that seek to serve the greater community, to be what we were trained for in the military, leaders and resources for the betterment of our communities.

  • Mr. Jonathan Havens - Chairman

    Jonny Havens serves as an associate attorney with Baker Botts L.L.P. in Houston focusing on energy litigation, toxic tort litigation, and complex commercial disputes. He graduated from Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets and served in the Ross Volunteer Company.  Jonny received his law degree from Duke Law School.  He was active in several initiatives to serve veterans while in law school, including volunteering with Shelter Legal Services, working on the inaugural Military & Veteran Hotline, and leading Duke’s Veteran Disability Assistance Program.

     

    Jonny served five years on active duty in the U.S. Army and earned his Ranger Tab as an infantry officer.  He deployed to Iraq twice, in 2006-07 and 2008-09.  He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal twice and earned the Combat Infantryman Badge.  He served an additional three years in the Massachusetts National Guard as an Officer Candidate Instructor.  Jonny is committed to ensuring that Iraq and Afghanistan veterans are prepared for success in the civilian world. 

     

    Jonny and his wife, Anna, reside in Houston with their three amazing daughters.

    LSVA is inclusive to veterans of all eras of service, their families, and civilian supporters. Our mission is to build the veteran community. We believe that our community is strongest when it is united. Please join us and come meet your LSVA community at an event near you soon.

    Membership is open to veterans, their family, civilian supporters, active duty, reservists, and national guard.
