Susan grew up in the Midwest and graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Psychology. Her early experience in healthcare focused on the rural healthcare delivery system. She then relocated to Los Angeles and began working in fund development with medical centers and medical schools in Southern California. Relocation to Chicago provided additional opportunity for national travel representing a medical school and healthcare system. Susan moved to Houston in 1992 and joined U.T. M.D. Anderson Cancer Center’s development office and traveled nationally. With the Rice University Development Office, she worked with biosciences, bioengineering and nanotechnology and regional assignments included the southern states, California and Chicago. Susan joined MHA Houston in 1999 as the Director of Development and was named President and CEO in 2011. Susan serves on the Board of Directors of Lone Star Veterans Association and the Advisory Board for Lone Survivor Foundation.
